Borage (Borago Officinalis Seed Oil)

Borage (Borago Officinalis Seed Oil)

Borage–also known as starflower–is famous for its potent anti-inflammatory properties. The bright blue flowers are also a favourite of honey bees. The whole plant has a cucumber flavour and is a typical garnish for drinks such as Claret Cup, Pimm's No.1 and cold punches.

Borage is the richest plant-based source of the skin-healing fatty acid GLA (gamma-linolenic acid). It has been used for hundreds of years, both internally and topically, to treat inflammation (from eczema to nappy rash).

We use Borage seed oil (quite a lot actually) in our Balancing Face Oil as it helps the skin heal with its soothing and skin-renewing qualities. More to love, borage seed oil works with ceramides in the skin to leave it more hydrated, smooth imparting a radiant glow.
